Ireland's overall 82.5% approval rate hides enormous variation. China achieves 94.8% on 16,500 applications while Nigeria achieves only 44.2% on 6,800 applications. The difference is largely driven by return risk assessment — applicants from countries with lower per-capita income and fewer ties to Ireland face significantly higher scrutiny for tourism and family visit visas.
