To enhance security, the ISD Customer Service Portal now requires MFA for all users. When signing in, you must complete an additional verification step. Ensure your registered email/phone is up to date before your next login.

Due to a high volume of postal applications, ISD is no longer sending acknowledgement receipts for posted documents in most cases. Applicants should retain proof of postage. Check the online status portal instead of expecting a written acknowledgement.

ISD has extended the concession period from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. Employees with expired IRP cards can continue working for 12 weeks provided they have proof of a submitted renewal application.

ISD is implementing a security upgrade requiring additional identity verification when signing into the Customer Service Portal. Ensure your contact details are up to date before rollout.

Non-EEA nationals must register in person at designated offices in Dublin (Burgh Quay) or Cork only. Appointments can take several weeks to secure. Book as early as possible.
